Big John, or Biscuit, as he is more commonly known, is a phenomenal horse! He is a 9yr old 17 hand full Belgian gelding, weighing in at well over 2200lbs. He is dark sorrel with a bright flaxen mane and FULL tail. He has a big wide blaze, lots of feathers, and the most beautiful eyes…
Biscuit is green broke but he needs miles and confidence. He is just a little spooky, but has never offered to bolt, bite, buck, or anything else stupid like that. But with that being said, Biscuit will not be suitable for a beginner or an unconfident or emotional rider. He is an emotional horse that gets his confidence and serenity from a quiet but experienced rider. Once he gets his confidence though, through lots of miles and stability, watch out!! He will be a force to reckon with! If someone will put a little bit of time into him and some miles on him, with very little effort, they will have a jewel of a horse. It won’t take long with this big guy, he already has the foundation and the knowledge, he just needs the right experienced, calm, and unemotional person to come along and solidify it with him. When a confident rider is on his back, he is amazing! He has incredibly beautiful movement; it will take your breath away. He is a huge horse and you would expect him to move like a big heavy draft horse, but Boy, would you be wrong! He actually floats! It’s incredible to see, like ballet, or poetry in motion. We are a draft horse rescue, we know our drafts, we specialize in drafts, and we have NEVER seen a draft move like this guy. He is one in a million, that’s for sure
